FreePick's 2010 College Football Preseason Rankings
We know, We know, it's only June but we can't wait (and know you can't either) for the 2010 College Football season to begin. It's not too early to start taking a look at some of the best 2010 football teams. After all, Freepicks.org wants you to be ahead of the game. Here's Freepicks.org's top 25!
First, the top 10:
- Alabama Crimson Tide: Even with some heavy personnel losses, Alabama should be in position to at least play for another Championship.
- Boise State Broncos: Could this be the year that Boise State finally gets the chance to play in the BCS National Championship game. With another undefeated season, nothing should stop them.
- Ohio State Buckeyes: After a few successful, but ultimately disappointing seasons, Ohio State was finally able to earn some respect after beating Oregon in the Rose Bowl. Still, Ohio State has some "unfinished business" and a squad that should be able to help them take care of it.
- Virginia Tech: Virginia Tech has plenty of reasons to be optimistic looking towards 2010. QB Tyrod Taylor and a powerful group of running backs, will make VA Tech's offense even more potent than it was last year.
- Oregon Ducks: With many key starters returning, Chip Kelly's second season as head coach should be even better than his first.
- Nebraska Cornhuskers: Nebraska might just be on their way back. The Blackshirts defense definitely is. They proved that last year with 9 regular season wins and a near-victory over the Texas Longhorns in the Big 12 Championship game.
- Texas Longhorns: Even with a loss in the BCS National Championship game against Alabama, and the loss of Colt McCoy, The Longhorns should have what it takes to reload in 2010.
- TCU Horned Frogs: What a run the Horned Frogs had in 2010. Their loss to Boise State was the only thing that kept TCU from going undefeated. They should be in position to make it to another major bowl game next year.
- Iowa Hawkeyes: The Hawkeyes were 9-0 before losing back-to-back games to Northwestern and then Ohio State last year. The losses certainly had something to do with Stanzi's injury. They'll have enough starters back this year to stay in the top 10.
- Wisconsin Badgers: Wisconsin's back on track. With only one offensive starter leaving, should have a powerful 2010 offense.
