ATTENTION SERIOUS GAMBLERS: For just the third time in baseball this season a MARQUEE Best Bet monster which starts at 8:35 eastern on the NIGHT card. This evening''s "Dodgers/Padres" contest involves one of the most unsual pitching situations you will ever see on the diamond, along with a 75% season-long UMPIRE angle. The NL INTANGIBLE GAME OF THE YEAR is now in the GUARANTEED section!!!

The following is an actual Saturday night PREMIUM release:

"2 UNIT" LATE NIGHT TOTAL (Athletics at Angels OVER 8' in a 9:05 eastern start---------Duchscherer versus Santana): The posted total for this affair had to be low to account for the fact that Oakland's struggling offense has amassed only TWO runs in the past three games combined. But the Athletics actually just made a roster move which should bolster that attack as they brought up veteran slugger Jack Cust from the minor leagues where he had 4 homers along with 19 runs batted in. Even though he does not hit for a very high batting average, Cust has always been able to both hit homers over the fence and draw walks. He essentially will be replacing ailing veteran Eric Chavez at the designated hitter slot and has a ton of major league at-bats. Last night the Angels shuffled their struggling offense lineup by dropping Hideki Matsui to the #6 slot for the first time. All the ex-Yankee did from the "six hole" was swat a THREE RUN HOMER. Not only did Matsui go 2-for-3 at the plate, he cleared the fence for the first time in nearly 3 weeks which makes him in my mind "under valued". Replacing Matsui at the #2 spot in the batting order last night was Howie Kendrick who began a current home stand 6-for-11 at the plate. Angels veteran outfielder Torii Hunter has driven in 13 runs in the past dozen appearances so Los Angeles does have some run producers. I am aware that tonight's starter Ervin Santana has an excellent track record (1.45 ERA) when pitching against Oakland but so far this season his HOME ERA is right around the FIVE mark and leaves a lot to be desired. Making an extremely rare mound appearance for Oakland is former All-Star Justin Duchscherer who missed all of 2009 with major elobe problems. Tonight Duchscherer makes his first appearance this month as he has been on the disabled list nursing a hip strain. The bottom line is that even if he does well Duchschrer will be on a "pitch count" this evening which means the Athletics bullpen will be called in to early service. From the database Oakland is a surprising 15-6 OVER/ROAD versus a starting pitcher who averages 5+ strikeouts per assignment
