A mamouth "5 Unit" NBA Best Bets totals WIN last night. This evening it is the NHL PLAYOFF SYSTEM TOTAL OF THE YEAR (Canucks/Blackhawks 8 et face off) backed by an 80-PERCENT system 23-6 since 1996. Another marquee playoff Best Bet now in the GUARANTEED section!!!
"1 UNIT" LATE NIGHT BASEBALL TOTAL (Pirates at Dodgers OVER 9 in a 10:10 eastern start--------Duke versus Monasterios): Last night a slumping Dodgers offense finally came to life with a SIX run output which was in stark contrast to the prior seven games where they were held to "3 or less" runs 5 different times. Last night Los Angeles firstbaseman James Loney swatted his first homerun of the season (3-run shot) and this is the same player that manager Joe Torre claimed during spring training was on the verge of a "breakout" campaign. Also going deep for the Dodgers last night was outfielder Andre Eithier whose batting average in front of the HOME fans this season (.394) is through the roof. It is easy to see why Los Angeles has been scuffling on offense as slugger Manny Ramirez (calf) is currently sitting on the disabled list while Matt Kemp has played poorly enough to be "called out" this week by the team's General Manager in a radio interview. Odds are that the Dodgers will have to score plenty of runs this evening in support of reliever Carlos Monasterios who is making his major league debut as a starter and will be on a pitch count. On the mound for Pittsburgh tonight is Zach Duke who already is 2-0 OVER/ROAD this season courtesy of a horrible EIGHT ERA. Long term Duke is 21-9 OVER the spot when facing an opponent from the National League West. My database research also indicates that the Dodgers are 27-11 OVER the past two years when facing an opposing starter who has poor control issuing on average at least 2.75 walks per appearance. Of course those walks turn into runs on the scoreboard
