The Jayhawks lost their number one ranking after a loss to Oklahoma State in their last game, but will try to regain any confidence they lost when they play Kansas State, a top five team in the country. Despite losing the top ranking, Kansas still managed to get some first place votes in this week's rankings.

This game represents the final home game of the year for Kansas. There would be no better ending than against in-state rival Kansas State. Kansas may have been taken off guard in the loss to Oklahoma State, but they are sure to want to defend their perfect record at home against the Wildcats. Kansas has won all 18 games that they have played at Allen Fieldhouse. Leading the Jayhawks will be Sherron Collins, the senior who is averaging 15.3 points per game. Collins, along with three others (Xavier Henry, Marcus Morris, and Cole Aldrich), all average double figures. Kansas had won 13 straight games until their loss to OK St. They went down 85-77. Kansas will have to regroup after allowing the Cowboys to shoot over 60% from the field, and over 50% from 3-point range.

Kansas State will try to not only disappoint Jayhawks fan on senior day, win the in-state rivalry, and give Kansas back-to-back losses for the first time this season, but they will also make their case for an even higher ranking. With just four losses all season, and only three in the powerful Big 12 conference, the Wildcats have earned their way into the top-5. Junior Jacob Pullen leads the team with 18.5 points per game and is aided by senior Denis Clemente who contributes 15.8 points per game.

The drama to this game gets even more considering Kansas State will look to avenge an overtime loss to Kansas earlier this year at home. The game remained close the entire night, as Kansas pulled off the win 81-79. Kansas State comes looking for some revenge.
