Reason:At 8:05 pm, our complimentary selection is on the New York Mets, with John Maine, over the St. Louis Cardinals and Joel Pineiro. Maine is one of my favorite hurlers in the game, and this is a great spot to take him, as the Mets are 0-2 this year in his starts (Maine has a 7.60 ERA), but Maine's WHIP is still a very solid 1.30). The Cardinals' pitching staff has not been effective of late, as it's surrendered 37 runs in its last six games (at least four runs in each), and Pineiro's given up 17 hits in 11 2/3 innings, and has an overall WHIP of 1.80.
