"2 UNIT" NBA SYSTEM (Sixers +9' at Magic in a 5:35 eastern tipoff on TNT): On the face of it this game should be a blowout considering that Orlando went 3-0 during the regular season against tonight's opponent. But taking a closer look I see that the second game of this series was decided on a last second three-pointer as the contest went right down to the wire. The last time these two teams met, Philadelphia actually was leading outright by DOUBLE DIGITS entering the final quarter. I find the posted line for this game rather shocking when you consider how poorly Philadelphia closed the regular season going a dreadful 1-6 SU/ATS. The only triumph in that span was back on Wednesday evening when they handed the Cavaliers only their second home loss of the entire season, even though Cleveland was resting all of their starters. So one has to wonder why the Sixers are not double-digit underdogs against the #3 seed from the Eastern Conference. In my opinion there is enormous pressure on Orlando whose 59-win regular season brings with it the weight of enormous expectations. The Magic actually struggled down the stretch of the regular campaign due to injuries sustained by a pair of outstanding three-point artists (Rashard Lewis, Hedo Turkoglu) which threw off the team's collective timing. Both of the aforementioned players will be see action tonight but they are not 100% healthy.
It seems like an eternity but Orlando continues to play without injured All-Star guard Jameer Nelson who is out for the season and one could argue that the Magic played their best basketball with him in the lineup. Even though it may seem strange, Philadelphia actually has some compelling matchups in this series including point guard Andre Miller who has the ability to dominate both of Orlando's guards. In addition center Samuel Dalembert gives the Sixers a rare opportunity of being able to guard Magic superstar Samuel Dalembert one-on-one. The bottom line is that Philadelphia is an afterthought right now, including in their own city which has just gone through the emotion of seeing their baseball team win a World Series and also lose a 38-year announcer Harry Kalas. The city's hockey team currently has a playoff matchup against in-state rival Pittsburgh. With the Sixers basically receiving very little attention, I am going to take advantage place what my database research indicates is a solid percentage wager. Here is a 65-PERCENT SYSTEM (55-30 last five years) that plays ON road underdogs like Philadelphia who have been beaten by the spread by 18+ points in a three-game span, against an opponent who in a five-game stretch has been beaten by 30+ points against the spread
